9/23/09 Current Events: National POW/MIA Recognition Day

On September 18, 2009 Barack Obama declared a National POW/MIA Recognition Day to honor the service, the courage, and the sacrifice of the soldiers who were captured or missing in action. Barack Obama stated that every day, the families of the missing soldiers are trying to find their remains. On that day, a black and white banner which resembles the sign of America's Missing in Action and Prisoners of War will be flown over locations such as the White House and the capitol building.
