President Barack Obama proposed plans to withdraw all of the U.S forces from Iraq because the violence had decreased there. The Battle of the Alamo (The Mexican-American War)
By Delan Chen
I had witnessed a very glorious battle between the U.S forces and the Mexican troops. It started on February 23, 1836. The general of the Mexican forces, General Antonio Lopez de Santa Anna, sent 1500 Mexican troops to fight against the U.S forces commanded by William Travis. William Travis wrote several letters for more men but only a few came. It was until March 6, 1836, the Mexican troops had finally annihilated most of the U.S troops in the Alamo. Only two US people had survived. It was very sad. A lot of good people like Jim Bowie, Davy Crockett and others had died. The US troops had fought bravely and took many of the Mexican troops with them. There were around 260 US troops and 2,400 Mexican soldiers. 258 US soldiers had died and around 600 Mexican troops were killed or wounded.  This was a battle to remember.
